Ashley Middleton (Germany)
MOBILE, Alabama, July 9, 2013
Ashley Middleton, a student at the University of Mobile, has attended the festival since she was five years old working alongside her Oma (German for grandmother) in the German Cultural Booth.
Ashley graduated from Baker High School in 2012 and was awarded a Mobile International Festival scholarship for her long time assistance with the festival.
The link below is a speech given by Ashley as a recent course assignment. In it, she exemplifies the educational value of the Mobile International Festival, demonstrating how the Festival truly helps students understand the value of knowledge of the world around them.
The Mobile International Festival was established in 1983 to help educate school children and share the many international cultures in Mobile among everyone as an annual event by playing a key role in education with their focus on world culture and racial tolerance.
