CHINA, MEXICO AND PANAMA AT FRIDAYS AT FIVE

“Who are
they and where are they from?” Spectators at Bienville Square asked
when they saw Chinese martial arts being demonstrated by instructor, TJ
Dezauche, and students from Liu Institute which was later followed by
Las Ninas Bonitas (The Pretty Little Girls) swinging and swaying to the
music from Mexico and, lastly, La Familia (The Family) with their elegant
hairpieces and beautiful long dresses swirling to their folk music from
Panama. These three groups from Mobile International Festival are always
happy to promote diversity in community events in the City of Mobile.
They performed for “Fridays at Five” and were the intermission
numbers of the group Emerge. This event was sponsored by the City’s
Neighborhood and Community Services.
